A Discourse on the Life, Character, and Public Services of James Kent, late Chancellor of the State of New York; delivered by request before the Judiciary and Bar of the City and State of New York, April 12, 1848, by John Ducr. N'ew York: U. Appleton &, Co, 200 Broadway. This "Discourse," to which an admirable likeness of the late Chancellor is prefixed, presents to us, in the form of a continuous narrative, the principal incidents in the life of the deceased, interspersed from time to time with such suitable reflections as offered themselves to the author, especially in regard to the nature and value of the juridical labors, and to the mrnii and influence of the juridical writ'wy of the late Chancellor Kent.
